Color coded ball cover indicates ball weight:

The weighted balls added 20 percent miles per hour for our pitchers. Some were throwing in the low 50's and increased their speed up to the high 50's in just six weeks. You have to be somewhat careful and spread out your workouts, but they do increase velocity.
